Hi everyone

I`m new to this forum and I currently am restoring a 1989 L series wagon.

What i really desperately need is some pics of the heater assembly on both sides with all the cables and levers attached as mine was pulled apart to restore all the foam on the flaps and replace the core. The car was then packed away as i had to move.

This was 3 years ago and I am having difficulty trying to remember how it all went.I have the full set of factory manuals and these still dont show how it goes! :(

Would it be possible for someone to please send me some pics of the heater so i can get my Subie back on the road?

Cheers

If you can post up a pic of what you have got assembled, show where you are stuck - might be better - jog memories, get more help.

Is where you are stuck somewhere a camera could be poked up under a dash to get an idea ?

I will take some pics later and post them....what i need is a shot of both sides of an assembled heater box with all the levers from the air servos in situ. Not too sure if a camera could get these from under both sides of the dash...no way to find out either because my dash is out of the car...

Bugger! Knew i should have taken pics as I went

Hi and Welcome :)

How is Johnette doing these days? Haven't heard much from her. Is she still in the game?

As for the heater stuff, I have one in pieces at the moment and can take some pics but might be a couple of days. From memory, they only go back in one place and looking at the wear marks, you should be able to tell but will get back shortly.

Cheers,
Paul

Hi Paul and thanks for the welcome!:D

It`s not so much that how the cases go together but how all the linkages and all the fiddly small levers go.You know the ones with the small air servos on them that operate the flaps, but I would really appreciate some pics if you could get them :)An assembled heater box would be ideal to see however, what shots you can get in those areas on the unit would be great

Oh sorry Paul,I forgot Johnette

She is still writing and performing songs in the States along with Jim

She is also into crafts and art and still lives alone with all her dogs out at Joshua Tree in California..:-)

I saw Concrete Blonde in Brissie in 2010....really was truly a mindblowing experience! :D

Thanks again Paul :-)

Hey GG,

I'm really sad I didn't get to see them in Oct 2010 when they were here. I was away at work and miss out on so many good concerts :( I should get into the record shop and see if any of their later stuff is around.

Ok, sorry for getting off track but today I was able to get down to the graveyard and take some pics for you. Unfortunately the one I thought thet I had the dash out, appears to have the heater box removed. I did take some pics of another one I had but the dash was still in it. If these aren't any help, let me know and I'll dig up some more.

Hi Paul

Great pics! Thanks so much for posting these..:D

The only thing i am not sure of now is how the two round metal rods go from the air servos. In pic 3 there is a cover over the ends of both of these and this is what I need to see.I think I remember that both rods go through a small metal plate? somehow just under this cover and if I see this then I will be ok from there ;)

I can`t thank you enough for all your help....you have really made this job so much easier

Cheers and have a great day!

Hey Rachel, No worries at all. That's what we are here for :)

Unfortunately, I've now returned to work and won't be home for another week :( I'll have to rely on some of our other good helpful AUSubaru members to see if they can grab this info for you :)
