LOL.. sometimes it's like that but I just have a couple of odd bits and bobs

The box that I'm thinking of is out of a Gen3 Liberty AWD but I'm not sure of the ratios. I'll check the number on it when I find it on Friday morning.

Yeah Peter, just give me a call on Friday and I'll get these bits together for you.

Suba
thanx for the response I would prefer the single range but don't rack the cue up yet.
I might just need your box.

If it's Legacy then it might be 4.11 or 3.9 but Liberty has 3.9

Why not swap the rear diff to match the new gearbox if it's different??

Cheers

RX was not available in the Gen1 Liberty/Legacy range. From the code you sent me, your box is from the VZ 2.0 Quad Cam NA Legacy, which I would have a guess and say it's 4.11

I think because he had the diff recently rebuilt but probably just easier to rebuild the new matching diff. I just rebuilt Honeycombee's diff with new bearings and seals and the kit was really quite cheap.

Ok I was going off the ebay add.. I'm still learning lol..
•115kw / 223 Nm EJ25 DOHC
•5speed RX Liberty gearbox and clutch Constant AWD
•RX Liberty differential and driveshafts

I hope you get it sorted..
Why can't you just get the gearbox fixed?
Then you will know it's good..
If you get a secondhand one you might end up in the same boat 15,ooo k's down the track..

Oh.. no need for apologies :) I'm with you, still learning everyday

I think rebuilding it would also be a good idea.

Its my everydayer and I have a strong feeling the crown wheel and pinion is going to be rooted (technical term)I really don't want to get it out n stripped down and find nit to be terminal.
I am x tradie and have a feeling the box is terminal.
I agree Paul 4.11 ratio
Does the 99 2.5 NA Lib AWD box take hubs n roll pins.

If it's an early 99 then it should have the stubs coming out of the front diff, if it's the later 99 then it won't have the stubs, as the front drive shafts will have male splines on the inner joint.

Very rare for the front crown wheel and pinion to go on the manual boxes but I woldn't rule it out. I'll ask arond the traps if you want another 4.11 gearbox?
