Cheeky vf2 for cheap

Post by El_Freddo » Tue Apr 26, 2016 9:35 pm

G'day ea82 turbo parts collectors/hoarders,

I'm looking for a cheap/free to good home vf28 turbo for the ea82.

Let me know what you've got, condition and what you want for it ;)

Regards

Bennie

but, you haven't got anything turbo ...

you are asking the wrong people, hoarders and collectors - you need a guy like I saw today - scored a pristine in most parts EA82 mpfi just its pots got drowned in coolant when intake came off 9 years ago :( - yet to check valve seats for rust. Contender for rebore and EJ pistons , Got a turbo for a spare (sorry), some turbo pipes, NA pipes ....pretty new looking PBR clutch

Not that you know about...

The unit I've got has previously been rebuilt - a few small screws are chewed out and it was found to be leaking oil into the intake compressor. It seems easier to get a second unit that's in bolt on condition or needs some attention.

Oh, and it's for an L wagon with a conversion. I'm yet to decide what to do with it, part of me wants it as a daily, other bit of me says pull it apart, keep some bits and sell the rest to try to recoup the outlay on this thing.

For now, play with the turbo and see where it goes.

I'm also on the look out for a cheap turbo crossmember as this NA one has been butchered IMO.

Cheers

Ok so I've obviously read the code wrong. On the air side I have found "ihi vf" cast into the casing followed by 2805 stamped on it.

Where do I find out exactly where the correct code is?

The whole unit looks tiny...

Cheers

A VF28 is a 1999 STI turbo

Is your VF2 water cooled?
Current rides: 2016 Mitsubishi Triton GLS & 2004 Forester X
Ongoing Project/Toy: 1987 RX Turbo EA82T, Speeduino ECU, Coil-pack ignition, 440cc Injectors, KONI adjustale front struts, Hybrid L Series/ Liberty AWD 5sp

Yes, has coolant banjo bolts on the passenger's side of the turbo.
