Hey Crew.
We are now past the point of thinking that we need a GPS… we know we need 1 (even more so after last weeks incident). Anyway I was looking for feedback on good GPS units, the pros and cons what you have liked or disliked, any cool functions that other brand might not have (like a big screen).
I know that to some extent you get what you pay for, and cheapies are out and although we could spend thousands we are not, figure that we should be able to get something for a few hundred, that should be able to read/scroll through maps, plot way points, track progress down load on pc and be combatable with pc software, etc etc.
Thanks any info would be good. Oh and I did not see this as a brand plugging/bashing exercise just a good way to get info out there about whats good and maybe not so good, I suppose if you do not want to publicly display brand names then feel free to PM me.
Thanks

I recomend the Etrex Series... look under the mapping section and for the models names starting with Etrex. Click on the individual models to see the benfits of each. Relatively easy to use and good quality. Cost unknown.

GSP Gel Spun Polythylene? You need the fishing section. If you meant GPS then I suggest you don't read any maps. :d
Seriously though, I have been looking for a decent GPS for our car and so far the best option I can find is to buy a "marine" GPS. Any of the ones with mapping in them don't seem to be any good for offroading. Excellent for giving directions around town though.
Any of the "proper" gps that I have seen don't seem to be any good. Generally the screen is too small to be ready easily or quickly when driving.

The Magellan XL would have to be the best of both worlds. Good on road Mapping & great off-road mapping too. Bit on the pricy side $1349RRP.
