search in here for a discussion with steptoe, discopotato03 and others where a pin out is manually input in a thread, comparing the two last six months?

maybe contact some that have posted in here refering to 4 plug ecu

search.php?searchid=441647

From what i recall there was not much difference between the two, but the obvious fourh plug is missing.

Did you buy a conversion kit from someone or shift it from your donor to your Brumby

Stick in here until you get it

Well done with the info - more useful than mine. Guess you scored another friend here

I'd be chasing the basics from the plugs back to the dissy cap and ignition power to the coil .
Other than that the system merely takes signals from the computer for the transistor to switch the coil on/off .

There should be factory WSMs online with troubleshooting sections for the 4 ECU plug ignition system .

A bit of the flow chart .

Disconnect injector connector .
Disconnect Crank Angle Sensor at distributor .
With ignition on ,

1) Check voltage across the body side terminal R of CAS plug > 10v
2) Ditto terminal B of body side CAS plug > 4v
3) Ditto terminal W > 4v

Reconnect CAS plug .

Disconnect two pin plug from power transistor and switch ignition on .

Check if the monitor voltage repeats to become 0 and 5v as the engine is turned slowly (by hand , do not crank with starter) between control unit position signal terminal 8 (B) and car body .

Ditto though cranking with starter while monitoring control unit reference signal 17 (W) and car body .

Reconnect two pin power transistor plug .
Reconnect injector connector .

Ignition on .

Check voltage Ignition coil (+) > 10v - if no replace coil .

Disconnect two pin power transistor plug .

Check if voltage varies synchronously with engine revolutions when cranked with starter while monitoring the voltage between the two pin plug terminal (WY) and the body . If yes replace IG coil . If no repair harness or replace control unit .

It doesn't hurt to continuity test any relevant wires between the computers four plugs and the CAS and two pin transistor plug terminals .

They get you to disconnect the injector plug so you don't flood the thing in the at times drawn out start ya bastard phase ...

Lets know how you go , cheers Adrian .

Any Qs ask away .
