Manual gearbox details for rebuild/reassembly
G'day all
After searching numerous pages in here and other pages (linked) I thought I'd found a suitable manual on a site - only to download and have the Zip file fail
What I'm after are details on torque settings and bolt torque sequence for the manual gearbox of a 95 liberty which I'm sure is the same as any other 5 speed subaru gearbox.
I borrowed a mates haynes manual that had more detail in it about the gearbox than mine does when I did the gearbox in Ruby Scoo. I didn't keep any copies of the pages - and had done this I would have saved them on an external hard drive that is currently in benders (I'm in cobaw)...
If anyone can help with a link I'd be much appreciative!
Also the tech manual seems to have gone to the subi gods with a lot of vandalising spam
Cheers
Bennie

Bennie.. if Jules doesn't come up with the goods, I'll scan my stuff and send to you.
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

Thanks Paul! I searched USMB but all I could come up with is the procedure to replace the input shaft seal - by splitting the box. Beauty! Looked for torque settings in the reassembly phase only to read a "bolt it all back together and you're done" kind of statementRSR 555 wrote:Bennie.. if Jules doesn't come up with the goods, I'll scan my stuff and send to you.
And I thought Jules would have posted about 0.5 seconds after I had asked my question - Doesn't he usually just "know" instantly when someone needs a manual before they do?
Cheers

sorry peoples I was asleep
Yesterday I was doing the work most 16-20 year olds do, being a plumbers labourer.
it realy does help to be 16-20 years old when you do that sort of work
Having said that the guy I was working for was suitably impressed with my work ethic and knowledge of plumbing.
anyway back on topic I will scan the Haynes chapter 7a and put it up as jpegs
hopefully that will be enough information to confuse you completely Bennie
or my secret site has the FSM no rar files just good old PDF files

Thanks Jules! And I thought there was no rest for the wicked!
I can't access that page the links sends you to - I don't have permission and it is forbidden! I feel like I'm in primary school again...
If it comes down to JPEG's of the manual that will be loads better than my manual that says something like "the overhaul of your manual transaxle is not a job for the everyday do-it-yourselfer and should be referred to your transaxle specialist or a replacement transaxle should be found" or something like this. After showing you how all the gearsets etc fit together that's what you get. Bloody useless!!!
Cheers
Bennie
PS you should look into hiring a 16 year old to do the work for you, they get their minimal wage and you get the rest for sub contracting to them Still feeling like a sprightly 16 year old now?

Thanks fellas! Yep Owen just pipped the competition if that's what you want to call it. I do appreciate the efforts of all the forum who took the time to help out This is what this forum is about after all!
So due to this information I needed, I got the gearbox back together today I knew there was a diagram there somewhere - page 53 (I think - I used this one ->), page 66 then about 12 pages later it was there again! All for different specs of EJ gearboxes! Crazy...
Thanks again!
Cheers

As long long as the box is together and sorted, then all is good
