I have the same engine in my Brumby and have had little luck in finding the correct cap also, purchased one from the UK only to find it was wrong. Unfortunately I don't have a VIN from the donor vehicle to go to Subaru with, so today I purchased a new distributor in the shape of a very bent 2006 Impreza wagon for its NA EJ204 and 5 speed dual range AWD trans. Let the games begin.

That Nissan part number partially rings a bell don't it - thanks for posting up your find. I found the GH623 has a listing for heaps of Nissan applications yet not listed for Subie at all - subybrumby made the discovery.

Wonder what you come up with searching 22162AA020 ?

Anybody get any further with generic options for dizzy cap and rotor?

Auto pro/supercheap/repco don't have any listings.

Subaru Australia says they don't stock them (22162AA040 - Cap & 22157AA001 - Rotor) have to be shipped from Japan and want $130ish for the pair!?!?

I've found some options on ebay in the US but am a bit cautious after the timing belt kit I ordered came with no box and with 2 damaged right hand tensioner pulleys.

Any help would be awesome!

I have 2 listings for EA82 EFI dizzy caps and rotors. Either clip on or screw on cap, also if it's Nippon or Hitachi dizzy.

Have you got any pictures of your cap?

It's a Hitachi screw on cap and the rotor screws on to the dizzy shaft as well.

I'll post some pics when I have a chance.

Thanks RSR555

Just been fiddling with an optical dizzy from EA82T part number ending in AA410.

The rotor button I ran on my SeriesOne L Series mpfi EA82T Bosch GH605 measures up same when fitted - just no brass internal bushing or retainer screw to sh!t you. Looks a lot less plastic in the 605, but looks like it will do the job

The brass contact for the caps terminals is same 36mm above a point on the dizy body for both rotors
