Front pad replacement 07 foz x

Post by Richos » Tue Aug 21, 2012 10:46 pm

I'm going to replace the front pads in my 07 forester, the rotors look fine and have no vibration or glazing.
The question i have is with the ABS/EBD, do i need to do anything in this dept or is it just a case of pushing the pistons back in and whacking in some new pads?
Cheers Richo

Thanks for that but the manuals says "if you hear the pad indicators rubbing on the disc take it to your subaru dealer and have them replaced"
not much of a how too unfortunately.
I worked in the brake industry for 10 years however this was before ABS was standard on most vehicles, i am confident to do the work myself and have the right tools however i'm just looking for a heads up in the electronics side of things.

Forget the car has ABS, its practically bypassed unless its actually trying to prevent wheel lockup. Just replace the pads as you would on any other car
