Where to source timing belt kits

Hi all, just bought a 06 outback. Also it is close to the major service. I am planning to DIY the timing belt. Where will be a good place to source the timing belt kit?

I would recommend you PM Frog (Andy) and get a good price on a genuine kit. If you would prefer to go aftermarket, then I'd checkout Veale Auto Parts but would recommend you use genuine seals

Even Bearing suppliers sells them 1/4 of the price.
I bought ours MY07 Liberty for $308 as timing kit (belt, idlers, tensioner and seals) from Subaru Hobart (You need to speak to the manager at the dept there mention me - Tristan from Melbourne recommend him he will look after you)

Does PM Frog has a website, I tried to google it, nothing relevant is listed.

$308 for a kit is really not bad, especially from subaru dealer. Is it going to be roughly the same price in any other subaru dealers?

I was searching the web for timing belt kit sold in australia. Got a quote from drivebelt.com.au: $475 for a gates kit (Gates Part Number - TCKHT304). Is Gates good? I feel more expensive than the OEM.

FROG is a user and surrounded by genuine parts, numbers ...and certain to be a pretty girl about too

A genuine clutch for a Liberty was $200 cheaper than aftermarket supplier !

No I was rapt when I bought it directly from Subaru Hobart. Normally you wouldnt get that price if you walk in other Subaru, Subaru Docklands wanted $555 for it and wouldn't drop the price.

I do buy gates for woodworking machinery as we buy direct from Gates - they're reasonable belts and the timing belts are good as well, we use timing with 40mm wide belts on our custom made saws off from 15kw motor driving the 400mm blade for ripping studs & timber.
