KYB shocks?

Post by indy » Fri Apr 24, 2009 12:25 pm

Hey all so i took my wagon to get checked out for rego, and they said im in need of new shocks all round.
I got quoted for $250+GST(Each) for front shocks, and $165+GST(Each) for Rear shocks.
Now i know nothing about them, but thats a nice grand total of just over $800 which to me seems pretty damn expensive (and thats not fitted) what do you guys think? is that overpriced? can you pickup cheaper ones around the joint then that? cheers.

I paid $220 each for KYB fronts, and was quoted $200 for sedan rears. You might find Monroes a bit cheaper, but most people say KYBs are the way to go. Steer clear of Gabriel.

If it helps I got a guy to order springs and struts from this site, http://www.wholesalesuspension.com.au/index.html for me.
They took 290 AUD for a set of kybs for the front and 150 AUD for a couple of king springs.

Edit: I would recommand you to buy new dust covers too.

That's a nice price. Atleast the 290 I have to pay for the front ain't overpriced compared to the OP's price.
