Post by woody.t » Fri Apr 09, 2010 8:49 pm

doing suspension swap from outback to liberty and have come across a 98 liberty who i can get struts out of but was under the impression that only the suspension from the 1st generation of outback struts fit which ends at 97?? is this correct and would 98 struts fit? cheers

From memory the 96 to 98 Outback Struts wont fit straight in a 89 to 94 Liberty without changing the rear strut tops. Fronts will go straight in.

Just in case I read your post incorrectly.. 96 to 98 Outback struts will fit a 94 to 98 Liberty :)

Then yes the fronts will go straight in and the backs will need the small work done :)

Not too sure about wagons but I know the Gen 2" late 94 to late 98 sedans" had different strut tops to a Gen 1 but the wagons may be the same.
