polyethylene blocks???

hi guys just wondering if you could use poyethylene blocks to body lift an 89 brumby?? or wouldnt it work...

Standard polyethelene would wear way too quickly. Its just too soft. Go for UHDPE (Ultra High Density Poly Etheylene). Much better wearing characteristics.

I use the stuff at work all the time. I have turned up bushings out of it for various tools and what not, and they are holding up very well.

Another you might consider is Nylon, which is available in sheet form as well.

Why do you want to go this route??? To cut down weight presumably???

I've heard of lift kits for hilux's made out of plastic stuff - maybe that which you're talking about?

some mobs in america using this already for subies... very easy to shape the blocks for a snug fit...

ummm i cant see why you need wear capabilities in lifting blocks, if you do the bolts up tight and they go all the way though instead of threading the polyethelene then you want crush characteristics and not wear

i was only thinking P.E blocks due to my old man had a few spare blocks from when he lift his patrol... that and its cheap 2 buy
