This does not really answer your question and I would like to know of any alternatives myself.
Have you found any front shocks on ebay that still have the adjustable height adjustments fitted ?
I have only seen new shocks minus the height adjustment option listed.
At this stage I already have new front springs and as my shocks appear to have removable tops I will probably go the option of strut inserts.
Could you let me know more details on what it took to fit the Suzuki Jimny shocks to the rear. Did you need to do modifications to mounting etc ?

OK
As a long term Datsun "nut" I am showing my age here but MANY years ago when going through the motions of fitting a 1969 Datsun 1600 with a 1980 Datsun 200B 2 litre engine I found it heaps easier and predicable to take out the 200B front strut internals (the 1600 front struts and brake system had to legally be changed to the 200B system anyway) and put Trail blazer 500 super heavy duty strut inserts and Henderson Road Hugger springs in than make sure all the 200B strut internals were honed and cleaned to accept the new original internals which would only produce a standard shock anyway. Wanting a much heavier front suspension system knowing the heavier Trail blazers were in the car was the aim at the time. With Monroe shocks and Henderson springs in the rear the car (I was informed) went around corners on 2 wheels. I was offered an XB Falcon ute with a 302 engine as a swap for the 1600 but declined.
I dont know which Subaru MY front struts can be rebuilt but mine appear to be able to due to a nute on top of the strut but a 2nd set I have cant and are a throw away.
