outback struts in lib

Post by mrmattyking » Tue Sep 11, 2012 6:11 am

Quick question for anybody who may know.....
Outback struts with standard springs = a lifted in gen 1 liberty but how about outback struts with low king springs? is this still higher than standard?
Anybody tried that combo?

pointless mate. king springs are cheap - replace them with standard height or raised.

not cheaper for me..... im running outback struts.
I would have to buy a set of lib struts and a set of springs.
I already got a set of lowered ones in the shed, hence my question.

why dont you explain what you are trying to do. sounds like you are trying to lower a lifted gen1 that has outback struts?

ok then... Detailed explanation.
I bought a gen 1 lib wagon which has OB struts and standard springs.
It sits just a tad higher than what I would prefer.
I already have a set of low king springs
and was just wondering if anybody has tried that combo and if so what is the height in comparison to a standard set-up ?
I do understand this is not a typical setup and yes it would be pointless in most situations.
cheers.

Depends. How much lowered are the springs. Outback struts only give something like 1" or a bit more over a lib so lowered springs will probably take it down to lib height or less than.

You just cant because the outback struts are longer..

Spot the difference.. the taller one is outback strut and other one is Liberty strut.
