Front Suspension Mod's Dial Up Warning

Post by Matt » Sat Jun 09, 2007 7:05 pm

I just brought some 3" lifted front struts off Steve at Rising Sun. They are awesome and i thought i would throw up some before and after pictures of them. I removed the top lift block and original strut (2 body lift block and king springs on Subaru shocks) and fitted them up. This gave me an increase of nearly 50mm. And about 75mm more suspension travel.

Looks great... VERY interested in the same set up... do you mind sharing the costs involved or is there another post about these.

I assume this new set up has the correct offset built into them depending on the size of your lift kit or your camber would be effected... how is the camber now?

Subi: with the lift block still there i would estimate the CV's to last about 100km, considering the angle they are on now. Also you can still wind them up as they still have the original strut base plate. Also note i am running L series shafts, etc, so my angle would be less then if you were using standard.

SuBaRiNo: It has cost me about $580 in total for the shocks, springs, top hat and freight. The camber would be effected, however i am running L series control arms and Kmac camber adjuster. So i am close to 0 degress camber on the front and about to be the same on the back.

If i remember i will take some photos of the camber later this afternoon. Got to go and finish the rear suspension mod's.......

If a couple of you guys are serious about doing it i could do a conversion kit?

Sorry about the dodgy picture but it gives you an idea of the camber and control arm angle. Remembering i have L series control arms and camber kit

How much and where did you get them... i never knew they made them to suite the MY struts. Pics??

I ended up with genuine Subaru ones but im sure Nuls would be better.... maybe.

They are from the Blackbox group buy. Not sure if they'll fit an MY. I'll see what I can find out.

I'd be willing to part with them for $330 - what I paid fof them through the group buy. I think now they are $380.

Are MY strut tops 2 or three bolt ? Mine are three.
