Hi welcome to the forum. Sounds like a nice street weapon you have there.
Coilovers are available but very expensive. If you want to go for something cheaper, KYB struts are very good and you can get some which will actually lower the car as little as well. Infact theres a bargain pair forsale here too!

As yet i am unaware of anyone supplying an off the shelf lowered spring for an L series. You can however cut the coil but this gives you a real spongy ride so i dont recomend it, unless you also shorten the strut the same amount. You can also try fitting Vortex rears struts as they where alot lower and the same floorpan

I wouldnt call them rare but "overlooked" would be a better term. If you want a part for a turbo EA82 you generally have to ask for vortex to get the parts place on the same page.
If you can get online during the working week then ask LightningSilverRX (Wilbur) if he has time to check them out he may be able to give you a price better than most

Hey slipps, where are you located?slipps wrote:ok thanks boys , where would i find a pair of vortex rear struts? besides if some came up in the classifieds.
from memory the vortexs are rare i could be wrong?
cheers for the replies its a big help.
If your in Vic and near melb, check out centre rd wreckers in springvale (i think - i'm a country bum myself and don't understand/know the suburbs names/areas etc), there is usually at least one vortex there at any one time, there's a blue one there at the moment, might be of interest.
Cheers
Yer at the time KYB did adjustable collars on their struts and I had mine set to the lowest setting and then had 1 and a half coils cut and it was very hard/stiff – not enough to rattle your fillings out but very firm for road use (I also had low profile rubber)… now I about to fit some Bilstiens (1st time off the KYB’s so I’ll let you know if you like).
Toyota 105 Series LandCruiser (that nobody on here wants to really hear about).
RX Touring Wagon - fitted out for 4WDing (currently collecting dust).
RX Project - will be road only at this stage (and currently taking way to long to finish).
