Rear Suspension advice please

Hey guys, well, have my 97 RX Liberty Wagon now and am very happy with it. The only problem I am having is a rear suspension issue that I'm sure could be easily fixed. I need some advice on which way to go as I don't want it looking like a Funny Car ready to launch at Willowbank!

What the problem is, I need to put an 85kg wheelchair in the back and while it handles that no worries, when I or someone of lets say larger build then me plus my wife gets in the car, it gets a serious case of tyre scrub. Bad enough to have half removed the tyre size markings on the drivers rear.

What would be the best solution, harder springs, Outback springs or what? Open to any suggestions.

could opt 4 a lift kit
or yer raised springs

97 so Series 3? Coil springs?
Thats very odd. What size tyres are you running?
Should be able to sit on the bumpstops without the tyres scrubbing.
I would say you need some heavier rear springs and probably new struts as well.

Thanks guys. BR, yep, series 3 and coils. The previous owner heplaced the std mags and tyres for 17" with 215/45 series tyres. The back has always looked a bit saggy compared to the front (think someone else mentioned the same thing in another post) so I thought std heavy springs may be the go??

90Brumby, well if I did that i'd have to sell the car already and go back to a Commadore or the likes. My wife isn't very tall and needs a std height car to get in and out of.

I have found out that Outback struts using Liberty springs may be the go. Anyone got any thoughts on that idea? I have enclosed (hopefully a pic I got showing the difference between the 2.
