The OP wanted to know about articulation and it was explained why vehicles with independent suspension OE style usually offer limited wheel travel .
Granted its surprising how far a vehicle can get with enough ground clearance when driving all four wheels but once they start to lift them they are not so good .
Horses for courses , live axle offroaders are never as good a road car as dual purpose/cross over ones because they biased towards being a truck where SUVs err more towards road comfort .
