01 Forester King Springs

Quick question... going to be getting a set of standard height king springs for the Forester. I have been looking at the catalogue online and noticed for the rear springs it says the springs can not be used with the O/E struts and they would need to be changed for KYB aftermarket struts.

Am i right in assuming that they mean IF you have the factory self leveling rear struts you would need to change the struts. My Forester has normal struts in the rear but i do belive they are the factory ones. (not self leveling).

Any info on this??

Thanks Xtreme.

I belive the Outback upgrade is only neccesary on Libertys... i don't think there is any gain to be had on a forester. Not even sure if they would fit. If they did fit that would mean Forester struts would then fit on a liberty but i have not heard of anyone doing that... not sure why.

Question has been answered now so it's time to get some prices.

there is no need to fit outback struts to your forester if you have perfectly good forester struts. They will be a better match to the lighter weight body of the forester anyway.

Forester struts are also suitable for lifting a liberty but most people go the outback option.

Only limitation of forester rear struts is the spring seat is lower than an outback (depending on the year) so you might be limited in tyre size options. If you aren't planning on going huge it wont be a problem
