Was speaking the other day to someone who rallied an RX Turbo in the late 80's .
What he did to get around the L's built in positive camber was to strip the strut foot and make a jig to allow the strut hole to be bored at a slightly different angle to change the camber from positive to negative .
The hole was then sleeved back to the std size and in this case the factory Bilstein dampers refitted .

If I wasn't planing to use Impreza coil overs ...

I am rally (meant to read "really" ) quite impressed how my L sedan handles. The rear swing arm bushes are getting close to needing replacing, I got 175/70 14 michelins - have you tried 14's yet Adrian ? My 13 H mags were shockers with whatever tyres I had on them.

KYB - A mates uncle is the sole importer of them in his little country, and sells them real cheap (in his little country) The old guy is visiting, and was talking about kayaba brand -never heard of it meself until it dawned on me - the boxes have KaYaBa on them in small print!!

The rally guys did get Bilstein struts made up and a few sets are still kicking around.
