Has anyone ever fitted rear coil springs on a MYLeone Coupe (front wheel drive). I am sick of it sinking when my daughter's overweight friend sits in the back. I already have heavy duty shocks on it but she breaks through that barrier without any trouble. I would imagine an L series front wheel drive rear type setup would be the answer if it can be converted. Any help appreciated.

You may want to try winding up the torsion bar. This can be done by adjusting the big bolt under the rear seat I beleive. Or get the fattie to sit in the front

2wd leone's dont have the torsion bar adjustment. Thats why im putting the 4wd rear in mine.

Im sure somebody has put L rear springs in a MY, i think it was somebody with a Brumby, maybe Phizinza or Mattims

Not me, although I did put L rear springs in the front... A couple of years back there was a topic on this on USMB. There were a few people that had it and liked it. Just used the L series strut in place of the MY shock with a modified top bracket.

I've seen it done on a Brumby, The owner had factory L series mags but they wouldn't fit with the L struts in.
He went back to Desert Rats and apparently was happy.

It can be done i have them on my Brumby. You just need a simple bracket to adapt the top of the strut. The bottom just bolts up. But it does make it alot stiff in the back, almost to stiff.

No drama's i should have mentioned before you will need a welder and angle grinder.

This isn't the best pic but you can see what you need to do. I will try and find some more or take some later.

So, what do you do with the torsion bar?

The idea is leave it, just adding more spring to the system. Really I think its stiff enough already. I'd get some pump up shocks (what I had on my brumby) and when the load is more then 400kg just pump them up and you'll raise it back up another 2+ inches.

for the orignal question though, you might want to try new torsion bars? They do fade and sometimes need replacing.. How low verses the front does the rear sit when the car is sitting with nothing in it on the level? pic?
