L Series lower control arms

Post by TW83 » Sun Apr 26, 2009 11:40 am

I have been reading the threads about using L series lower control arms on the MY/Brumby and cant find a straight answer to "are L series axles also required?" (mine is already fitted with an EA82 5 Speed)

I have also been hunting for rear diff mount bushes and had no luck finding p/u aftermarket so will have to go down to the Subi dealer Tuesday.

The diff hanger has a bend in it on the left hand side that looks like the diff has twisted it. I haven't found a striaght one yet - was that how they came from the factory?

Lseries axles with either an MY Outer CV put on, or installing the Lseries hubs and bigger brakes with them.

Tie Rod ends also need a bit of work to find one a bit longer.

also the Radius Rods.

Diff hanger should be straight.

Thanks Matatak,

I think I will have a go at reinforcing the diff hanger.

Longer tie rods off another Subi?

I am in Bunbury and there is only 1 gutted out brumby at the wreckers! Do you know of any wreckers in Perth that have a reasonable number of cars ?

i managed to mix and match tie rods off another Subaru but they had to go into my EJ rack which requires different ends to an MY rack in the first place.

ive got parts of my old wagon if you need anything ?

Thanks for all the help.

I was just playing around today and spaced the MY radius rods to push the wheels forward about 10mm. Even this small increase made a noticeable difference.

As soon as it is registered the L Series bits will be going on.
