Steering Column Bearings

Post by griffodean » Sat May 30, 2009 5:11 pm

Can anyone tell me if it still possible to buy the top steering column bearing for an L series? Mine has lost half its balls and hamered the races. The rubber ring had slipped down the shaft and it has ben banging around in there for god knows how long.

Might be cheaper to get another column from the wreckers?

Nah, my actual column/shaft is fine. The bearing sits just behind the steering wheel and centres the actual shaft into its outer tube. The whole set up looks like a headset from a push bike, but held in place by a circlip. I am sure that you would have been able to buy a replacement kit, but wondering if anyone knows if they are still available.
