Operation Outback struts and foroester springs

Well i noticed a few weeks ago i had a leaking rear strut. so it was time to replace!, after doing some research i work out i had 2wd sedan rear struts with lifted forester king springs, this was done to be able to use liberty top hats.
now i wanted to go to outback struts as the 2wd with lifted springs was really the best setup, but the out backs run bigger diameter springs than the foresters/liberty's meaning i would need to find gen2 lib/outback top hats.
so rather than go through all the hassle of finding gen2 top hats and having to change the strut top lift blocks i thought i would try my luck of fitting the forester springs to the outback struts.
i took some pics as i went and this will explain more
in this one you can see the size difference between the 2wd sedan and the outback strut.

this one you can see the sharft and case size diff.

now i was worried about the forester spring not sitting in the base of the outback strut properly, but once i had it together it all seemed ok.
in this pic you can see the spring is sitting in the rim of the strut base.

and this a pic of the 2wd struts, you can see the that the spring base if very different to the outback, and the on the left is the stuffed strut, wont even gold its self up!!

and the result? well the car seem to ride nicer, the 2wd struts had very little down travel with the lifted springs were as the outback ones seem to have heaps more from the quick test today, everything seems to have settled and there is no movement of the springs out of place so far.
the part numbers for all this gear are as follow.
KYB outback struts : left 335021 Right 335020
lifted forester Kings springs : KSRR-33
