gday gday,

Does this work in a gen 1 liberty? Can i use standard liberty struts and put either forester or outback springs in them?

Also - if this cant work, does anyone sell strut tops only for the liberty?

Thanks!

It is the strut itself that is different, not the springs or the tops. Yes you can fit outback struts to your liberty.

This might answer some of your questions:
showthread.php?t=14716&highlight=forest ... ty+springs

Or you could give King Springs a call and ask them the specs of the different springs you're looking at.

See the sticky at the top of this forum for strut tops.

Coil Springs itself are the same between Gen 2 Outback - Liberty also early Impreza..
But 3rd Gen Outback is completely different.

Struts itself between Gen 1 & 2 Liberty are the same. But the hats are different.

I dunno about standard height Forester coil springs, I think they are "raised" for Liberty/Outback. Cant be sure, anyone knows?

If you want to raise your Liberty, you're better off getting Kings Raised Coils.

Thanks alpine raven.

Just checked the part number on King springs and they say KSFR-26 is from a 2nd gen outback (raised spring).

But are you saying that this spring will fit the liberty gen1 (93) struts?

Just need to absolutely confirm this before i buy the springs.

Thanks again

Thanks Alpine Raven..

So the KSFR-26 will fit the liberty strut even thought it's a 2nd gen outback spring.. -

And this is because the liberty, outback and some impreza's all share the same spring up to 2nd gen outback.

if its a raised option for the outback will it be too high for the liberty?

Thanks again.... Just need confirmation before i buy the parts.

one more quick question....

after the fitment of raised outback king springs into the lib, will 215/75 r15 (27.7 inch) wheels fit in the guards?

15" Forrester rims fitted - With BFG muddies (215/75/r15).

You will need Outback struts if you want tyres like those ^
Because the Outback struts have a higher spring perch then the Liberty.
If you get O/B struts they'll fit snug though without a lift kit!
There is rubbing on the front inner guards, simply fix - cable tie them up/forward a bit. On full lock there is still slight rubbing, but its only noise, the tyre wont damage or get damaged. The rears, you need Outback Trailing arm brackets, to push the wheel back to centre (The higher struts/springs will move your wheel forward).
Hope I'm not too late and this all helps :)
