looking to install a lift kit in an l-series touring wagon and just wondering what the specific laws associated with this is in wa. is it a max of 2 inch without engineers certificate and if so howmuch would it cost to have say a 3 inch lift engineered approximately.
My law: Any mod is legal if it complies with the intent of the law and doesn't get noticed.
The actual law: http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/licensing/1412.asp (i.e. from the authorities, not some guy on the internet).

from all the pictures and kits I have seen on cars, it can be done in a day with 2 people working on it
as for the kit it will ride the same height as a 4 inch lift with a little more angle on the cv shafts as the box engine and diff will olny have 2 inches of lift
one more thing I dont know if you can custom order a kit to be 4 inch and 2 inch most of the people who have done this have fabricated the kits themselves

Note that while officially you are supposed to have things like that engineered, almost nobody actually does and it doesn't really cause issue (in WA). I know a few people who've taken 3" lifted L series over the pits. Just don't draw attention to the lift by mentioning it, and they don't mention it either. So long as your brakes and lights etc work it's fine.
