Gearbox Lift kit blocks

Hi guys,

I got this set of lift blocks for my brothers MY. its a 4" kit.

I can't understand and install the gearbox blocks.
Why, in this case the alu block longer? and where does it go? front middle end?

Is 3 really the gearbox blocks? Its a set of 6 blocks, four of the steel and 2 of the longer alu blocks. (only 3 blocks of one side in pic)

In my L series kit and in a 2" kit i had on a brumby the 6 gearbox blocks were the same height. Thats why i'm confused with those blocks.

yea number 3 is 4 the gbox the kit came with 6 of the same size but 4 some reason i had 1 on each side longer cant remember y or wat was difference since it was 1 of the very first things i did to a subaru

Im having the same problem with my 3 inch lift kit.. most of the blocks are 3" and the 6 gearbox ones are 2"?

Theres also two little 1" solid blocks which i dont know what there are for..
Plus does the diff hanger get dropped down too? cos i have no blocks or anything to drop it down with the kit..

that block in the far left of the pic is probably the diff hanger block or that is what it should look like anyway.
i had to make custom ones for my 4". seems to work.

and guy i have no idea why that is....as were yours, mine were a set of 6 too...

Wagonman, Its normal that the gearbox are a inch shorter as this lifts the gearbox and gives you more clearance but also allow your gear link to stay stock as with 3 inch on the gearbox mounts they might be too short.

Those small one inch blocks are definitely for the middle joint on the tail shaft. The tail shaft drops only and inch with 3 inch kits.

Im pretty sure I have but pics of my liftkit installed on my car on one of my posts somewhere or someone who asked. You can come over and have a look under my car if you want. My liftkit in my wagon looks exactly as the kit you have:)

Its just with that brumby 4 inch kit, im confused and don't understand why out of the 6 gearbox blocks, two are longer. I thought and always saw that they were the same height.

Definitely a problem with those 3 blocks if they are indeed for your radius plate.

Don't try to install them.

yes Guy all the blocks for the gearbox are the same length and would be parts group 3 according to your picture. the 2 aluminium ones need to be put into a lathe and cut to size, if you install them as they are you will damage your your radius plates

wagonman the inch blocks go under the centre bearing mount on the tailshaft

Ok so one stupid bolt snapped today and i was wandering if that happened to any of you and what did you do to take/ fix the problem??? Was the last bolt, one of those long ones that hold the arm up. I guess mud/sand got in there and got stuck in the tread. I took extra care to screw and unscrew adding WD-40, it helped a bit till the ****ing thing just snapped!!!!

Also on the front sturt tops, I have the arrows pointing inward towards the engine but the wheels have crazy angles. what is the rule again? For every inch high, does the stut top mounts move inwards or outwards???

did you make the strut tops yourself? the rule of howmuchoffset vs howmuchlift applies when manufacturing them not fitting them to the car. Arrows pointing towards the engine bay is correct if they are a BYB strut top, dunno about other ones, you'd have to ask the person who made them.
I think with 2bolt MY struts it makes a difference which way around the strut is bolted to the strut top though, you might have them around the wrong way.

With Liberty's, L series etc (the ones with 3 bolts one the strut instead of 2), it doesn't matter which way around the struts go.

Yeah i think i have it the wrong way around as the wheel sits at a too big angle. I don't think the kit is byb. i'll rotate and see what happens:)

yeah rotate your struts around, not the lift kit strut tops.
