No one in the lift kit business seems to like replying to emails.

Search is your friend, MrRocky. HiRise is no longer in business.

Try Crossbred Performance, Scorpion Subaru in Qld, SJR lift in the USA, maybe Subawreck in SA, and maybe BYB/Ausubaru if you can get in touch with Dave, aka Subi Wan Kenobi on this forum. Or just keep an eye on ebay.

I think I heard on the grape vine somewhere that they don't make lift kits anymore...

AndrewT wrote:do a quick seach for HiRise on this forum, you will find a post from me every few months informing people that they are out of buisness. It's been years and years now lol :) They won't take their stupid website down!
AndrewT wrote:They havn't been in business making lift kits for many years now.
AndrewT wrote:Yeah HiRise stopped doing lift kits years ago but annoyingly their website remains.
AndrewT wrote: 1. LOL that's two in as many days. HiRise havn't been making lift kits for years now, however they STILL have the website active.
AndrewT wrote:Note that HiRise havn't made kits for a very long time now (yet the website remains).
AndrewT wrote:They don't do lift kits any more afaik. About a year ago he told me he's been meaning to get rid of the website.

I think you have too much time to listen to yourself AndyT - what you should've done was see how many different ways you could re-word the same thing

I'd be looking up crossbred performance myself. I'm thinking of getting a rear diff protector at some stage too.

Cheers

HiRise isnt there anymore and they wont pull that bloody site off!

I think we need a list of suppliers and who/where and make it sticky.

apologise for what i said here
subareck is still open, but have not been making kits for a while

HOWEVER i have been lookign into it and they may soon be selling them, priced at about 850$.

and before anyone says its too expensive and that you can get them cheaper i say go for it, knowing that the cheaper options use hardware grade bolts whereas these will use grade 8.8 or higher hence the price.

Just so everyone is aware, this isn't necessarily correct. Depending on the supplier. It is the purchasers responsibility to check this out. Lift Kits supplied by Crossbred Performance use only high tensile 8.8 bolts and all high quality materials, including SA5 zinc coating. And are cheaper than $850!

8.8 grade bolts arent that expensive and the higher the grade does not necessarily mean they are better for all purposes. Higher grade of bolts are generally more brittle (ie don't bend, they snap) and can't handle multiple directions of pressure as well. There is always a balance for whatever application.

but in this apllication you dont want them to bend. a bent bolt will lead to destroying the suspension and they shouldn't be able to snap if installed correctly
ive priced it up, real 8.8 bolts for what i can see will cost alone about 200$

As for the Crossbred Performance lift kits, we have seen them, fitted them . and don't have any hesitation in the slightest in using or recommending them. Same goes with the engine bash plate, diff protectors and the Crossbred kit itself.

True, I was talking more generally. I ran into the grade of bolys issue when putting my bolt-in cage in a racing car a while back.

Still think $200 for a set is a bit much. Shop around.

ive used 8.8 for nearly everything i can.
i build 3 or 4 cages a year so its all we have in the shop now.

the 3 bolts in each tower cost 10$ each!!! so theres 60 in bolts already

So is there anyone about that does 3 or 4" lifts still? or does anyone make 1 or 2" lifted springs for L series?

by AndrewT
liftkits yes. This thread lists all of them.

Check out the listings on Kings Springs website, I think you can still get raised springs, but this isn't really recommended as it adds angle to your CV joints, reducing their life.

Thought that was the case, so who would you recomend for that size lift?

A 3" body lift kit with standard height brand new shocks/springs is a very well balanced combination. There is little benefit in getting a 4" kit but it does look abit higher.
