Lift Kit problems
Hey guys,
Just got a 2 inch lift from crossbred and having trouble installing the front struts. We cant seem to get the bolts aligned and pulled through the body. my question is on some occasion do you have to drill through the existing holes to get the bolts to come through? because its excemptionally close just wont come through. Also is drilling a bad idea or are there other ways to go about it?
cheers

The bolts may be off slightly as a result of welding. I know mine were on the Liberty. I started by getting two bolts through the holes and screwing the nuts on a couple of threads, and then working the thrid bolt through. It's not difficult but the weight of the struts + strut top make it hard wok if they don't quite match up.

Actually as i just made that last post i remember that i tweaked one of the bolts on one of my one strut tops slightly with a hammer. As above i had two bolts through with the nuts on, then just worked out which way the third bolt needed to go. Pulled out the strut, put the nut back on the third bolt i was going to tap (so i didn't stuff the thread), and then adjust it slightly with the hammer. I would try this method before any drilling.

if its a few mils... should be ok as long your using washers that covers the holes, but I wouldnt if its more than 3mm off.
