anyone got any ideas as to how to get them off?

use nut splitter. or cut them off with cold chisel. cold chisel is pretty quick.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

First to try would be a 6 sided socket followed by knocking on a smaller socket (cheap one and usually an imperial size), then a pair of vice-grips and lastly a cold chisel

You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.
