Hi guys,

I'm after some info on where can i get cheap parts and part number for the suspension for the second stage of my conversion.

With Bennies great work and thread for using the honda springs for the rear suspension we see that using them has big advantages and are quite cheap.

I wanted to go further and have your thoughts about this.
I've heard that the 2wd sedan L's have a longer shock and i'm looking if anyone knows the part number for them?
And the question is, would using the longer strut with the honda springs give even more height to the car?

Bennie, does your car have the std or the longer 2wd struts?

Now for the front,
I'm going to be using the front struts i got from the front cut. They are not the higher outback ones as the car is a lancaster:(

My questions are,
Would the difference be the length of the strut?
Would the springs be the same?
Do the forester, liberty and outback all use the same springs?
Or is there a higher factory spring that i could use to give me some extra height?

as in the PM i just sent you Guy, the rear shocks in your car are already the 2wd shock. The part number is actually stamped onto the base of the shock.

And to answer your question about forester, liberty and outback using the same spring, the answer is no, im 95% sure theyre different.

Ok cool,

I'll have a look at home to get the part num:)

You say its got a higher spring base, so the shock isn't longer?
its just the spring that sits higher?

Thank Venom for getting me onto USMB that had a thread about these springs. VERY happy with them while loaded - so they're staying as is.

I believe my L has the standard 4wd strut. I measured up a set of 2wd and 4wd rear struts in the yard and I couldn't find the difference in them - anyway...

I don't think you'd need the 2wd struts unless they give you more travel.

Also Phiz has told me to get my rear bump stops sorted so that I don't bottom out the spring (fatter and more coils = less room for full compression) and rip the spring seat base off the shock absorber... So now to make up some "lifted" bump stops to match the rest of the lift kit ;)

Cheers
