hi guys i am new to the forum
I live in yorkshire england and have a 2000 forester gls i have
insa turbo dakar mud tyres and a home made sump/bash plate
i found your site and was blown away by the modded and lifted subs!!!
i would love to buy a lift kit for my forester looking at the threads 2" would be best???(your views please)where can i get such a kit or would you recommend the king springs as i think my rear springs are getting tired as i am a dogger and normally have about180 llbs of dogs in the back!!
are the saggy springs on the back of foresters a common problem?

Hi Stevee, I ahve a 2001 Forester with 2" of lift and bigger tyres. Its a good combination and makes a heap of difference.

You have a few options.
1: 2" blocks and new rear springs and shocks (the shocks will prob need doing if you do the springs)
2: 1" blocks and raised springs all round this will give you a total of 2" (this is what I have in my Forester).
3: then theres 1" lifted springs all round then bigger tyres next time round.

I am currently about to pull out my 1" blocks for 2 or 3" and am just going to go stupid with lift. But thats a whole nother story

similar to what taza said,
the best bet is to get 1' strut top blocks,
then get performance struts, and lifted HD coil springs.
its probly one of the ultimate all round options, topped off with larger tires which are 2" bigger diameter, (gives you and 1" lift) bring it to 3" all up...
combine that with a bull bar for improved approach angle, and your well set up!

For springs go to most mechnics or repco or specialty suspension store and ask for 1" raised heavy duty king springs for your subaru.

Edit: missed that you are from england, I am unsure of the availability of the springs there so you will probably have to order and have them shipped from the website.

many thanks fellas no mate you can't get lifted springs for foresters here can only really get original/replacement parts see only poachers and old people have foresters here!!!!
i know wrong section but anyone have a link for forester snorkels???

Granted I have an outback but with my 50mm body lift kit and heavy duty (Raised) springs it handles almost as good as from factory and would heavily encourage it. I installed the lift first as I thought the springs and shocks were good! If I had my time again i'd do the lot at once, Instead of pulling the same parts out several times Plus pay for one wheel alignment.
I got my kit off a forum member but not sure if his still doing them although I have also dealt with http://www.crossbredperformance.com/ and would highly recommend them.

Sumo Parts in USA are now doing lift kits for Foresters...look pretty good from the photos.

also look at crossbred performance they are australian

I got a full 2 inch lift though mine. Body blocks and Strut lift. Taller HD springs and ATR tyres.

Slower than stock - seems to get about 10l-100km fuel.

Goes good.

I have Pedders springs, and a full crossbreed lift. I would recommend what I have.
