Gen 1 Liberty Lift

Post by libertymal » Mon Apr 30, 2012 7:26 pm

hey all. currently working on on my second project which is my touring car. ive got a gen 1 liberty wagon with coil conversion already done but its currently sitting at standard height. i would like to raise it by 1 - 2 inches but unlike my gen 1 sedan (which i just drilled out my rear strut towers and used forester struts) i dont want to butcher the chassis or overly effect the ride and handling. so.... what is the most subtle way of going about this?
thanks and any imput would be greatly appreciated.

outback struts and lifted heavy duty springs just swap the strut tops and a direct fit or there is a number of companies/people selling body lift and strut top blocks..

you would be chasing whats termed gen 2 but the first generation of outback which is 96- mid 98 i believe i've done the it on my liberty wagon if you want to check it out showthread.php?t=20200 and there are a few around with the outback and lift which look really nice try searching bumpty or vincentvega.. i have outback strut tops in the rear as it makes the rear sit a little lower but more level which i like the look of... but any questions feel free to pm me i still have part numbers and that on my laptop

After lots of advice on here I put 98 Outback struts in mine and the rear trailing arms from an outback. The fronts bolted straight in but the rears wouldn't fit the strut tops would not fit and the 3 bolts didn't line up. I ended up getting some 98 Imprezza tops for the rear struts.

not sure if you have the room at your house mate but considering i paid about 700 for new outback struts and springs that might not be a bad option plus you have better rims (the 14's will look stupid under the liberty once its lifted) and your could recoop some coin from selling bits off... just a thought if you have the space.

He did a good job of that just from rear ending someone! The smashed windscreen looks like when someone takes out a roo or person and they bounce off the bonnet into the windscreen.
Thats how I got my struts, bought unlicensed OB then parted it out.

Quick question for anybody who may know.....
Outback struts with standard springs is lifted in gen 1 liberty but how about outback struts with low king springs? is this still higher than standard?
I've got this combo in the shed an am thinking about swapping it over..... anyone done this?
