Brumby front struts

Whats would you do?
Genuine front strut replacment?, or what is a good aftermarket shock to go with, I am replacing the front strut tops with new genuine ones, and the shocks are stuffed. It is my boys car ( no money dad will buy and he pays me back....yeh right)and I can't find non geuine one that are hieght adj. on the aftermarket computor search.

All aftermarket ones I've seen never have the height adjustable threads on them and I doubt you'll get genuine ones anymore

doubting Thomas you are Paul ! Contact FrOG . Got mine a year ago, factory black, with adjuster stuff, and cheap as, cheaper than after market stuff. Got 380,000 out of first set, working on second set getting same. Happy as ! FROGs discount helps with posting stuff around our continent

$147.60 each is my best price and seven available
retail is $168.69

and just out of interest I can do rear shocks for $100 each four available

I would need to jack the front of the MY touring wagon up but I seem to recall its front struts had nuts on the top which I hoped would allow strut inserts to be fitted like I used to do in the 80's to Datsun front struts.
Is this what the nut on Subarus front struts is for or just for a strut internal rebuild.
Are strut inserts still available ?
