Rear MY Torsion Bar

Post by El_Freddo » Mon Oct 20, 2014 12:02 am

I'm after information on the rear MY torsion bar.

I'm wondering if they need lubrication or if crap can get inside them? I couldn't wind all of Redback's one up and when driving it didn't seem to be very springy. It rode more like a race car's suspension. But since driving for a bit now (done a few hundred kms) I think it's loosened up and the rear end seems to sit higher. But I could be wrong.

I know they've got some seal in them that can be easily damaged if the torsion bar is removed.

I'd like to get this running properly for the long run - so if it needs cleaning out/lubricating I'd like to know how to do it and what to look out for.

Cheers

Shouldn't require any maintenance but does require to be operated (height adjustment) on a regular basis, so not sure how often it's been worked?

Thanks RSR,

I've been meaning to get under there and mess around with it again since it's now being run daily.

Cheers
