Rear suspension

Post by Vortex75 » Wed Oct 29, 2014 11:29 pm

Hey guys, what would I have to change on the rear suspension on my Vortex 4wd to lower it to standard height instead of looking like its on stilts! Do I have to change the springs and the shocks?

measure it first Canny ! On a level floor, these subes are measured at the rear from the tubular rear cross member that all suspension hangs off at the front most of the rear wheel arch. The distance between floor and bottom/lower side of the round tube at the end/outer side of the tube.
Chuck measure in here so we can compare first.

The front is measured from the ground up to the centre line of the lower control arm bush bolt. If you wanna be different, measure from bolt centre down to ground.

Go too low in the bum and you may get same crunching noises I did when I tried a low arse FWD rear spring and strut in the rear of mine, and upset DOJ's, grinding them to bits ?

250 mm at the rear and 200 mm at the front. That's if I measured it right!

search might find specs for XT 4WD as rear 250mm with a plus 10mm or minus 20mm. Front is 255mm plus 12mm or minus 22mm
