MY rear struts - differences ? ute - wagon-sedan-coupe ?

Post by henpecked » Wed Oct 21, 2015 9:51 pm

Could someone tell me if subaru had any real differences between the 4 body types with the performance/pressure/ settings of the rear shocks

I gather they all fit the 4 body types ( at least the wagon and ute seem physically interchangeable) - so I'm wondering if there was a difference in their "innards" - eg would the wagon struts be appreciably "stiffer" than the ute ?

I note that for KYB at least, the Ute rears are Pt No 343284 and the wagon rears are Pt No 344276.

the Monroe catalogue has identical part numbers for 83 leone wagon and for series 2 brumby of either GT Gas w/- Reflex Part Nm of 15-0320+ or a standard part of 5914

Shocks

Not sure on the shocks but the rear torsion bars in the brumby are thicker/stiffer so if anything you would expect the same with the shock rates to cope with a load in the ute.
