Lifting MY81 Wagon

Post by sully87 » Mon Aug 06, 2007 8:22 pm

Hey guys. I'm looking at lifting my wagon. I'll be fitting a BYB 2inch lift kit.

My question is: Will i need to ditch the rear torsion bar and upgrade to springs? What are the advantages of doing so?

As i am new to this site ( my credit value is not much ) , When i lifted mine , it was , shocky extensions for back and couple blocks and couple blocks for front and top of tower blocks and steering extension and longer brake lines . and that was it.
To the best of my knowlege, standard that is . the MY had torsion bar rear. That is all i have seen in the past 10 years that i have been around subarus.

how much longer did ur brake lines end up being?
i didnt think id end up needing brake line extensions with my proposed 2 inch lift as they are already slightly longer then originals neway

but also for Sully87 reagarding upgrading to springs
90brumby has a 4 inch lfit and hasnt changed over to springs and i am unsure of ne1 who has
people with lifts that i no a bit aobut seem to have upgraded front shocks and springs adn sometimes rear air shocks but i dont think its needed to upgrade nethign suspension side.

The brake lines that came with the kite were 2 inches longer, that way still had same amount of slack after the kit went in. at full travel the lines are at there limit.
