Outback Struts

Hi all....
Yes I'm a girl.... If that makes me sad, so be it...
I have a gen 2 liberty wagon.... I want just a little bit more height though.... Where is the best place to find outback struts?? and how much will it cost me?
Any other cheap suggestions to gain a little bit more height but not so much it looks out of place?

We have a few members from Taz on here that should be able to steer you towards a good supplier. LegacyTT springs to mind. There are plenty of other Taz members but none that I can think of that have played with the Libertys much.

Outback struts will give you about 33mm of lift. If you do fit them I suggest getting some Outback trailing arm mounts as well. I think VincentVega on the board here knows the part number. They aren't expensive and are quite simple to fit.

The best thing about the outback struts is the larger tyres you can fit with out and strut rubbing issues.

If you want a little more height after that you can get inch lifted king springs.

Welcome to the board. If you are going to the trouble of fitting Outback struts you may as well get the raised king springs and do it all at the same time

Agreed. Since the body is designed for Liberty's springs, you will notice that its harder to put the struts back on than normal springs! - Been there done that - and had to replace front CV joints 1 month later after installing outback struts - pain in the arse but worth it!

Because they can be a pain to put back in when new just crack the nut at the rear of front A arm so the arm can move freer and undo the sway bars

i looked at wrk the other day theres 2 diff model outbaks will either struts b alright n are raised springs really advised??????/

according to KYB there are 3 different part numbers.

SUBARU OUTBACK
BG9, 2.5Lt. Wagon, (AWD), excl. Self Leveling Susp.

Excel-G Twin Tube Gas Shock
Front Fit Type Rear Fit Type
Left 334167 335021
Right 334166 335020

i wuld think this one tho the others being E-Adj susp. and the rears not being actual struts.

As Brett said I have done this mod both before and after fitting a Lift Kit. Without a lift it gives good all round clearance and allows slightly larger tyres. I am in Launceston if you need a hand with where to get parts or with fitting etc. Feel free to PM me any questions.
