I heard from a mate that you can lift the rear of an l series wagon by turning some kinda bolt under the rear seat. Anyone done this? is it a useful feature? i will have my new (old) subie l series tomorrow, complete with cheesy eighties graphics and I can't sleep at all.

nice to hear you are excited about the new suba.
unfortunately i think the torsion bar was a feature only on the earlier MY series cars.

Yeah agree with SubaFury here only the earlier model MY series and the Brumby had the bolt to wind up the rear suspension. Depending on what year L series you have you may have a stepped collar on the rear that will enable you to lift it up.

I think the stepped collar on the rear struts was only avaliable on the 85-86 model wagons.

Yeah the stepped collar was only on early models as standard but i have seen them fitted to later model ones as well. Always worth a gander under the rear end to check first

On my Leone Coupe MY series I have that setup , however I pulled out the back seat could not see the bolt, where exactly is it once you pull out the back seat?
Thanks

Heres a pic, they are like motorbike adjustable shocks, these are on the 2nd setting muffler clamped to stop the collars pulling over the lugs.

only the my wagons had the bolt under the back seat, so your coupe wont have it, but you can still wind them up by taking them out and turning them 1 spline on the shafts. 2 turns if you want more lift, but if you turn to far the ride gets to stiff.
