L series rear wheel scrubbing - what to do?

Hey all,

Now, i've had a set of road tyres on my L series for about 9 or 10 months. Yesterday I noticed that my rear left wheel is scrubbing on the outer edge of the tyre, very noticable now and seems to have come on suddenly. The other wheel seems to be wearing evenly.

I've heard about the 3 bolt adjusment trick, but can't remember which way it goes to get things right. Anyone know how this works?

And is it as simple as the weight of the car re-aligning it or can you make it go the other way? Or would I be best to get a 4 wheel alignment - where would you get this done?

Any help/tips/info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Bennie

The 3 bolt adjustment is to fix the big negative camber problem some L series develop. In this case if the top edge of the tyre is hitting the upper edge of your guard, this would probably make things worse! You want negative camber so the top of your tyre is further in towards the car so it doesnt scrub.
I would say try trimming the lip of your guards a bit so they don't touch.
New shocks and springs will help for sure as your tyre won't slam up into the guard as easily but it still will occasionally when basing around offroad.
Also consider skinnier tyres or different rims with a smaller offset.

Thanks guys.

I haven't done any 4wd'n for a while, just noticed the scrubbing last week. No issues with guard scrubbing when driving or 4wd'n.

Solution still struts? (bugger...)
