I was 4WDing with that Land Rover and the Subaru was keeping up fine because welded diff but I don't have the same clearance so the bullbar was taking a few hits on the ground when going up steep creek banks.
There was one particularly steep one that it hit pretty hard and snapped off, but it was worth it because hardly any 4WDs could even make it up, there was only me, the Land Rover and a GU with lockers from what I saw.
The mounts were not welded on very well anyway, I have made new ones from steel and attached them to the bullbar with carriage bolts so it is all good now.

It gets some looks and comments at the tracks. There are a lot of people out there running open diffs who wonder why their big 4x4 can't keep up with a Subaru.mrwalker500 wrote:Land Rover, Patrol and what - a Subaru!

It's all fixed now. New tyres, antenna and bullbar mounts.

Are those tyres the khumo road ventrurer kl71's (from memory) - how do you rate them? Good on beach and rock?

Yes, they are KL71s. They have been great, as much traction as I could want. I like the directional tread.El_Freddo wrote:Nice mate.

I have had no trouble in sand, even really soft stuff, but I would expect not to with low pressure and a welded diff. Climbing soft sand it is more the engine that struggles, sometimes I need to keep it in 1 low and let it rev.
Heaps of traction on rocks.
