Installing a new stereo
Hi guy's, I'm looking at updating the cassette player in my 2001 Forester. Does anyone know if you car buy an adaptor that converts the subaru wiring plug for the subaru stereo to other makes of stereos such as pioneer. Thanks

What player are you upgrading to? Normally there is adapters that you can buy from stores. Do not cut your original wiring loom!!!! Its better to make adapters (better sound quaility and wires has better contact) rather grimp the original loom. All you need is to find the right plug to suit...

forget about the wire colours as they vary between the years, but the pins remain the same. not that hard, i figured one of my rear speakers was dead during a head unt swap

this may help as well, about getting the plastics out of the way its a 03 might be like the 01 (my 97 forester was way easier)
