gday fellas,

ive put up with it long enough but now it has to change.

i replaced the stock speakers in my '94 impreza wagon with bigger better 6.5' splits.

having a major difficulty, does anyone know where i can get a set of speaker spacers (and screws if possible) that will raise the speaker from the door so the windows can wind all the way down, and not come to rest onthe magnet... lol.

thanks alot fellas :D

regards, willo.

Dumb suggestion as you already have the speakers but buy some shallow mount ones, Otherwise buy some craft wood and make some to suit. you can try jaycar or autobarn but often they dont come in quite the right size. supa cheap and repco etc sell them too but have a pretty poor range!

If you buy them/make them, make sure they then don't let the speaker hit or rest on the door trim.

I had a similar problem, but it was with a old Leone. Since the doors where waffer thin, the window would get in the way of the the magnet. What i did i took the pastic cover off the magnet and the window was then able to move up and down properly. Have you tried that?

better option would to make some out of MDF, custom matched to the door and trim profile and use lots of dynamat

Will have a better surface to fire off - metal doors are dreadful for sound quality.
