Bluetooth & iPhone troubles

Post by radioBirdman » Fri Aug 06, 2010 12:59 pm

Hi folks,

I hope somebody can help me out here. I am buying a 2005/6 Outback and it appears to have a bluetooth handsfree. There is a small mic up near where the driver's head would be and when I turned on my bluetooth on my iPhone it detected a device called 'handsfree'.

Unfortunately when the PIN screen came up I hit something on the iPhone screen (not sure what it was... maybe 'forget the device'??) and now the iPhone no longer detects the handsfree.
Google seems to suggest I need to reset the 'handsfree', which might make the iPhone detect it again but I've got no idea how I'd do that. I hoped it'd be as simple as re-set the iPhone network settings os similar.

My iPhone is a 3GS running 3.1.2 if that helps?

Anyone got any clues?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Quality advice from Alex there lol :)
Unfortunately I don't have experience messing with Bluetooth on my 3GS Iphone, but what I can suggest is try updating your phone to the latest OS - yours is way out of date.

I use my bluetooth to run the internet but never used it for a car kit but have you read the owners manual on the car? otherwise you can go into the settings on the phone and turn off the bluetooth and on again, Failing that my best advice is go to the apple website forum and ask on there!
87 targa brumby (Neglected),
92 targa brumby (weekend runabout),
97 Lifted Outback (Dailey drive),
05 outback safety (Too cheap to pass up),
90 model liberty (was to be scrapped instead sold to workmate)
+ others.

My wife uses iPhone with BT all the time in the work's Falcon (as far I know it works well/doesnt have problems), her iPhone is 3GS with iOS4.0.1 and I recommend you to update it - but backup all applications and the iOS4 is free if you download it via itunes.
Cheers
