this is from the 2007 forester FSM

Woofer

A: REMOVAL
1) Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
2) Remove the rear seat belt, rear seat, rear quarter
upper, rear quarter lower, insulator and luggage
floor mat.
3) Remove the woofer trim.
4) Remove the woofer mounting screws and clip
5) Disconnect the harness connector and detach
the woofers.
B: INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.

not much to go on but all I can find

it would help if we knew what year the forester was

D'oh.

2010 Diesel. Came with the vehicle.

I didn't realise they have been standard for a while.

Out of interest do Subies generally have an audio system 'a cut above' in the later models? I seem to remember seeing articles extolling the virtues of the standard systems.

I don't know about the 2010 model but in mine it was a poor excuse for a subwoofer , more like a 6x9 speaker. Replaced it with a 8" sub in the same location some people have even managed a 10" in there

this is what the stockie looks like

No, not really. All OME stuff is built to a price point.

Save the MacIntosh systems end in the high-end Libeties. Very nioce...

:o what an awesome sub.. I'm guessing you didn't win any sound-off competitions with that :p

Here's another sub-woofer in a Foz :)
