A question about my Clarion radio cassette & speakers

Hey all was just wondering if any of you Subie gurus out there could tell me if these radios were possibly a dealer fitted thing. I had to pull mine out to get a tape jammed in it out & was suprised to see a sticker on the base of the radio which read Subparts with a number on it. I had just assumed that it would have been fitted by someone after purchasing the car.

I was thinking of chamging it to something with bluetooth connectivity for my phone but if it's something that was put in the car at the dealer I wouhld rather leave it alone.
Thanks Jake

Looks like a bit of a dealer fit to me!

Definitely original, I had the exact same model in my brumby. the hack job underneath the facia does lend itself to thinking it was an aftermarket job, workmanship looks like a 5 year old was let loose in there with a hacksaw hee hee hee!

They fitted the Clarions here, but that one doesn't look like the type they used to use for MY's.

Thanks for the answers there guys, might leave it alone to avoid butchering the console any. Will see if I can figure out how to make it have an auxiliary input somehow, think I saw someone has done that before.
Now that I've got the stuck tape out its all working again, nice to have some tunes going.

you can get a tape --> aux adapter.

literally put in a tape with an aux cord attached.

You can but I've found these to have absolutely shocking sound quality, as in turn the iPod/whatever and the stereo up full blast only to get quiet scratchy music coming mainly out of one speaker...maybe I got a dud one though :)

I had one of those back in the 90s, worked ok from memory. There are millions of them on eBay, might be worth getting one to try as they are only a few dollars plus postage.

Fitted by the dealer, at time of delivery and suspect radio came from the parts dept. Seen a few of these clarions and the 4" 8 ohm speakers in the door, likely fitted with same finesse dealer network wide :D
