Hey Jordan - I assume you've seen the Mini-ITX offerings from Via?

17cm square board with up to 1.3ghz proc, 1gb ram, onboard video, sound, lan, sata, usb, tv-out etc

The SP 1.3ghz version can be had for about $300...

Thanks Ben, I've seen the EPIA's, my plans for a loungeroom pc are based on one of them, they're very nice little boards, what caught my attention from the biscuit PC boards was only requiring 5V, coupled with a laptop drive which also only needs 5V this makes things much easier for a car-puter.

I've heard that the only thing that still uses -ive voltage rails in vaguely modern computers are the serial/com ports, and it's not necesary to provide any -ive rails, but I'm not about to test this on a new $300 Epia board, I did have an Asus A7N266VM board (MicroATX Nforce 1 all on in one) that I was prepared to do it to but Amy pinched it

the epia boards don't need -ve voltages, just 5v and 12v - you can get automotive power supplies to suit them.

i bought my mainboard about 3 years ago second hand. To buy industrial spec stuff like that new costs an absolute fortune.

The epia boards are your best bet, however they require a more complex power supply (they are ATX) You actually need 3.3v, 5v, and 12V. The 3.3V line pulls quite alot of current too..
