I've been looking around for speakers, thinking of replacing my two 6" cardboard speakers in the back of my car and came across this brand Kingwood with 1000 watt 6x9s, anygood?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-KINGWOOD-6-x ... dZViewItem

What's the knowledge on these boards of these speakers and any general recommendations for some replacements on my cardboard speakers... cheaper the better really haha :) more "bargain" cheap tho... haha (not stingy cheap)

cheers,

Yeah they look like $0.01 worth of speaker.

I wouldn't waste my time even fitting them.

You're only looking at ~$120-150 for a good set of pioneer 6x9's, definitely worth the money to know you're getting quality.

Ha that's the stingy kind of cheap i think, made in china, no way they'd be able to put out that kind of power, i think your best bet would be to get sommat local as you'd have a much better warrantee, prob be able to pick up some sonys or pioneer for 50 ish on special

cough cough...thats actually funny. KINGWOOD = KENWOOD cop out. They even look like kenwoods...

even funnier, they are a 6 way speaker! ROFLMAO!

spend afew extra $$ and youll be more than happy. Ie, alpine, kenwood, pioneer or if the budget allows, JL audio, focal, hertz etc etc.

Head down to your local car audio store, more often than not they have excess stock going for some cheap prices. Take the original drivers with you when you are shopping as this will give you a better idea of what will fit in the factory trim.
Others will have to confirm, but I believe too-deep a magnet will interfere with the window winding mechanism, something to remember so you don't install them THEN find out after all your work is done.

haha cheers everyone, had a look around my local stores but no such luck with specials or deals as of yet.
And a mate just brought a Kingwood pair off Ebay! He's already got speakers and is going to wham these in his car anyway to see what they can do! We'll be seeing what they are like in the next couple of weeks... haha

And I have also managed to Grab a pair of Clarion 280 watt 6"s for my cardboard replacements.

Keep you eyes on this forum as well because i know i will be back when its time ti install them haha :)

if ur looking for a good/ cheap 6x9 i recommend jbl's 2007 model 100-150 depending on where u get em and sound great, better than pioneers and alpines equivilent

but then again 6x9 are 6x9's they arent that great

...well we tried them out and.. they worked haha!

They actually worked really well, not 1000 watts well,
but very well for not having an amp hooked up.

So i guess they aren't what they say they are on the box but they do work ;),
it's probs bob just a matter of how long they last,

hehe yea 'Made in China'

and NIX is what sorry?
