6x9s home or not?

Post by Bumpty » Wed Sep 12, 2007 11:01 pm

(93 liberty wagon)

I was looking at how to replace my front speakers thinking they were 6x9s due to the factory cover on them, but after finding they were only 6"s i started to wonder if i could still fit some 6x9s in somewhere.
Heres what i've come up with... is it possible or not?

I'm thinking they could fit to the right of the factory 6"s in the inviting gap... They would fit defiantly, but how would one go about fitting, what would need to be made, glued, drilled, cut, and thought of to accomplish such a feat.

I'll put up a pic of the panelling that would be cut.

cheers, tell me if its a great idea or if i should just stick to the factory speaker places.

6X9 will fit in there, the only problem is the depth. Just make sure you wind the window right down and it clears the speakers... Just jigsaw out the bit of plastic trim and use the clips/screws provide with the speakers. The speakers usually have basic fitting instructions....

if you are prepared to REMAKE the lower trim they will fit nicely. watch the clearance on the top corner.
